The costs of using a local bank to make your international transfer of funds are expensive because the banks make money by offering a lower exchange rate and by adding fees ($45 or more). The Symposium uses TRANSFERWISE, and we are extremely pleased with the amount of money saved using this service.   TRANSFERWISE will save you money, but more importantly, you can also make the transfer at your leisure with your smartphone or computer without involving a third party.  If you choose to use this app, please let them know that I recommended you.
